Our Story

third cul·ture kid

/ˈTHərd ˈkəlCHər kid/ · noun

Some love stories begin with an introduction. Margaux and Kaushik's began with two people who had spent their whole lives introducing themselves to new places.

They met in September 2020, on Hinge, somewhere between Tucson and Phoenix an unassuming start to something
rather extraordinary. Both are third culture kids, shaped by more countries than most people visit in a lifetime, fluent in
that particular kind of belonging that comes from never quite belonging to just one place. They recognised it in each
other almost immediately.

"We were both from everywhere and nowhere. That was the whole conversation, and then it was the whole life."

By 2022, two homes had become one. Slow mornings over coffee. Long drives with no fixed destination. Sundays built around Manchester United. Dinners that swung between tacos and something spiced, depending on the day. The ordinary rhythms that, without either of them quite noticing, became a life.

In August 2025, on Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara, with the Pacific doing what oceans do best, Kaushik asked, and Margaux said yes.

Between them, home has worn many names—Turkey, Dubai, India, Bahrain, Boston, New York, Arizona, California. In February 2027, it wears one more: Goa, where two families and two cultures finally meet on the same shore.

And no story about this couple is complete without Chai, their endlessly loyal dog, and Cheddar—known to everyone as Juju—the cat who runs the household and answers to no one.
